My professor told me the meaning today.Contemporary acting is being yourself/being yourself in any type of situation. Modern acting is being yourself and adding that extra layer to the character. He said Will Smith would be a Contemporary actor and Denzil Washington (earlier in his career) use to be a Modern Actor. I would consider Jessica Alba a Contemporary actress and Christian Bale a Modern actor. Who do you consider Contemporary and Modern and why?
