millions for one movie??? is there no sympathy for the grunts that help make the movie or is it because the majority of actors are liberal and it is ok for liberals to make money?

  2. To be fair. the mega-buck actors work project to project. They EARN those megabucks based on millions of affirmations in the form of $10 movie tickets and $20 DVD sales. The link between performance and pay is transparent and obvious!

CEO’s are often found to be incompetents are real business but excellent at playing political gamesmanship in established organizations (Colin Powell comes to mind). A CEO rises rung by rung in a very non-transparent manner. Their executive pay is set by a close cohort of fellow travelers. Of all the weird things — the closest MARXISM has come to any practical success is withing the typical big corporation. Internally corporations tend to be Marxist central dictatorships with internal Politboro and KGB equivalents.

The fact that huge CEO’s salaries are complained about while the huge take-homes of actors are not is actually a very healthy sign of the regard common folk have for the truly free market, and the loathing they have for Marxism.

  6. Because actors are workers.CEOs "work" by exploiting others, that`s the negation of work.

  12. Probably because an actor hasn’t been the direct cause of the collapse of a company, or employees losing their 401Ks and retirement because of a scam.

  14. I am not aware of any ACTOR who has run a company into the ground and then BEGGED the government for a TAXPAYER funded "bailout".

    Can you name ONE?

  22. Guys like the firefighters who went in the World Trade Center attack should make the money, not the actors who portray the firefighters in the made-for-tv movie.

  24. What outrage? We’re not angry about how much people are making it’s the fact that they make so much and yet maltreat the workers lower in the hierarchy who make them rich.

  26. A whole lot of ‘actors’ support the DNC with big money.
speaking of actors why do they have more creditability that most on political topics. you know that they usually can not say anything intelligent with out a script or ‘Q’ cards,

Class envy…it’s the only way liberals stay in power. It’s pathedic!

  30. We’re not angry at all CEOs. We’re angry at the ones who run their companies into the ground while they pay themselves millions in bonuses and perks. Not only are they not producing anything, but they’re actually subtracting from what is already nothing. Actors on the other hand (although i do believe they’re over paid), produce a product. They put forth months and sometimes years of effort, research and talent to make something that is available to millions.

  32. What amazes me is that these multimillionaires in Hollywood condemn Middle-class America for wanting the good life when they themselves have many times over while doing nothing more than reading a teleprompter. Most are not even high school graduates who have latched onto some cause which is politically correct to give meaning to their meaningless lives.

Oops… to take away from reading a teleprompter is to devalue the accomplishments of Obama. Sorry Barry.

Americans are stupid. sorry. They are. They are self absorbed and ignorant. Most could not pass a 6th Grade History Test. They have been purposefully dumbed down so that a community organizer who was a great speaker could be placed into the most powerful office in the world. The Manchurian Candidate. "Dave". God I know where we are going and I fear for the idiots who elected him because they don’t have a clue.

  36. I’m outraged, just spent $50.00 at the movies for my family and that was a matinee!
Don’t stop at actors but include ball players, imagine the guy selling peanuts in the stand, making peanuts while these steroids are making millions for hitting .250, or better yet a starting pitcher who only works every 5 days but is left handed so he’s worth 12 million a year, forget about the 6.78 ERA! he’s a lefty and the Mets cant hit lefty’s!

  38. Same thing for sports.

It is outrageous what some people make. Yet the CEOs are the only ones they bash.

  44. My guess is that the multi-million dollar actors aren’t getting that money from the corporate welfare system.

I don’t care if a CEO of a successful company gets compensated well by the company’s profits, but when a company "needs" a bailout, the time for high executive pay is over.

  45. cosmicwindwalker on Fri, 25th Dec 2009 9:49 am
  46. when ceo’s make large amounts of money there is no accountability to share holders, workers, or the product.

they have no vested interest - they can just take the money and run.

actors serve the entertainment business - hardly a necessity.

  48. don:t care about the corrupted hollywood people. it;s not my dime they get cuz i don;t waste my time or money on them. whatever they get paid is way too much for wallowing around naked using vile language and bad acting. i can stay home and hear the same things around the neighborhood.and they don;t get paid for their drunken vile talking and comical antics.I can sit on my porch and see that if i choose,
but you see where they go. to barry;s parties cuz he is just like them.birds of a feather. but hey if the people wants to throw their money away on this garbage it;s up to them.

  49. babbie on Fri, 25th Dec 2009 9:49 am
  50. I believe that CEOs take their salaries out of the profits of a company, do they not? Actors get paid for their services according to what the market will bear, based on how much money they can bring in from ticket sales. If the "grunts" were bringing in as much as the actors, they’d get paid accordingly. It’s called supply and demand.

  56. Or athletes. There are some athletes that sit on the bench and get paid millions from their contract.
